The Growing Popularity of VPS Hosting

VPS hosting , or virtual private server hosting, has become very popular recently with small to medium sized businesses that are having trouble paying for expensive IT services.  Who has the money for anything extra anymore?  Cutting corners and getting the most “bang for your buck” has become commonplace.  Therefore, many businesses are looking into virtual private server hosting because they have more resources available to them than on a shared server without the costs and technical know-how needed for a fully dedicated server.

A virtual private server acts like a dedicated server on a shared hosting environment.  What this means is that the VPS is partitioned in such a way that each “owner” owns a completely separate section on the shared server.   Across the Internet, you can find VPS hosting plans for as little as $5 per month but the prices can skyrocket for larger amounts of resources.  The thing to be aware of though, is that these prices are highly comparable, and most times cheaper than all that you would get with a shared provider.
